Travels with Frank
DATE: Wednesday, May 28, 2014
TIME: 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM
MEETING: Buehlers River Styx #18
Today we will travel to the
New Concord-Zanesville area to experience a part of Ohio's historic past. Our first stop will be
the John and Annie Glenn Historic Site housed in John Glenn's boyhood home. It honors the lives
of the Glenns and relates the story of the 20th century America through the prism of their lives.
Lunch will be
on your own at the Zanesville area Cracker Barrel Restaurant.
The nearby Zanesville Pottery
will be our next stop where you just might find that special treasure you have been looking for. Their collection includes
unique pottery, terra cotta, dinnerware and a lot more!
Our last stop will be the National Road/Zane Grey Museum.
The museum has three exhibits: First, the National Road, once called "the main street of America," now U.S.
Route 40; Second, a tribute to Zanesville author, Zane Grey, well known for his western novels; Third, a central portion
of the museum is devoted to Ohio Art Pottery.
We hope you and a friend will want to join us on this journey back
